Main fabric and arm fabric: product-specific selection areas
A product may need more than one fabric decision. Choose fabrics for separate areas and calculate their price impact using the configured coefficient.
Distinguish swatch collections from selection areas
A swatch collection holds fabric options. A product selection area represents the part for which the customer makes a decision, such as main upholstery, arms or cushions. Several collections can be offered for one area, but the customer chooses one fabric from one collection for that area. Alternative collections should not be treated as multiple simultaneous fabric selections.
Explain pricing through coefficients
A swatch collection can have a percentage or fixed-amount price effect. The coefficient assigned to the product selection area scales that effect. A collection with a 30 percent adjustment contributes 30 percent for an area with coefficient 1, or 9 percent for an arm area with coefficient 0.3. This is a configured pricing rule, not an estimate of fabric usage or measurements.
Allow changes within the cart
A first selection made during presentation can change as the consultation continues. Fabrics for the linked areas can also be edited while the product is in the cart. Staff should review the recalculated total and the effect of any discount-reset policy. Company settings control whether customization differences are displayed separately, while fabric codes need to remain clear for production.
- Keep one fabric selection per area.
- Set coefficients according to the intended product price impact.
- Review selection codes and totals before issuing a quotation.
| Area | Collection adjustment | Coefficient | Area impact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main fabric | 30% | 1 | 30% |
| Arm fabric | 30% | 0.3 | 9% |
